Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 25 September 2026
The short version
- Everyone should be able to plan for their family. We want OpenWill to work for everyone.
- We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA.
- If something doesn't work for you, tell us and we'll help.
1. Our commitment
We want OpenWill to be easy to use for everyone, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive impairments, and people who use assistive technology.
2. What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This means you should be able to:
- use OpenWill with a keyboard alone;
- use a screen reader;
- zoom in up to 200% without losing content;
- read text with good colour contrast; and
- follow plain-English explanations, without legal jargon.
3. Known limitations
We're still improving. At the moment:
- We're not aware of any major accessibility issues. Please tell us if you find one.
4. Getting help
If you have difficulty using any part of OpenWill, or need information in a different format (such as large print), contact us at support@openwill.app. Tell us what you were trying to do and what device or assistive technology you use, and we'll get back to you within 5 working days.
If you need extra support with signing your will, for example because of a disability that affects writing, please tell us. There are legal ways to sign a will in these situations, and we'll point you to the right guidance. You may need a solicitor's help.
5. How we test
We last reviewed OpenWill's accessibility on 25 September 2026, using automated checks and manual keyboard and screen-reader testing.
